We currently have 5 pages for reference and will continue to provide background
history on our animals, present and past. We hope you find this useful
whether considering one of our Nigerians or someone else's herd that carries our
genetics.

W e
would like to thank all the breeders listed below
for helping us set the foundation for our Nigerian
herd and for sharing all their wisdom with us.
T hank
you to Jill Landers of
JVJ Farm in Missouri for her help, care and
expert counsel in getting started and for selling us
a beautiful buck with some strong conformational
qualities and genetics to compliment what we have.
Jill's been a wealth of knowledge to the point
of instructing me over the phone through a
traumatic kidding when the vet couldn't get here.
T hank
you to Patty Putnam of
Prairie Oak Farm in Wisconsin for her invaluable
advice, availability, genuine love and caring for
these animals--and for people. Her book, “The Basics
and Beyond - Goat Care and Management” has been
extremely helpful. She's another veteran with a
wealth of knowledge and experience. Patty's
book is available here:

I
am grateful to Anne Petersen and Margiana of
Rosasharn Farm. Anne, also, has taught me a
great deal the last couple years, from her many
years of successful goat breeding. She’s been a
good friend and a real mentor. We are very happy to
have a combination of Rosasharn’s best genetics
in our herd. We visited the farm, while out in Mass.
for Nationals (summer of 2005) to pick up some very
special animals. We were able to put our hands on
the ancestors of much of our stock. We're very
pleased!
T hank
you to Heather Marciello of
Doe-Sy-Doe Farm for our
beautiful "Starlight" out of an
outstanding, proven consistent Stonewall line, heavy
on the "Raising Arizona"! Her genetics are a
wonderful addition to our herd.
A my
and Audrey Kowalik of
Lost Valley Nigerians have contributed to our
great "genetic pool"! Our Torieta comes also from a
most proven, consistent line of beautiful,
productive does.
D ave
Kowalski in Wisconsin bred a beautifully
correct buck for us with his expertise of having
been an ADGA judge in years past. He bred Alpines
long ago and then Nigerian Dwarfs in more recent
years. Our Sundance brings in some strong Twin
Creeks genetics, being line bred on Twink's Pixie.
Thank you
to all of you, for your years of hard work and
skillful breeding that gave us such a "big"
beginning!

BLF SD Stellar's Beauty
DOB: April 1, 2009
|
|
 |
 |
|
This is the beautiful doe that Stellar gave us. She is very dairy like her dam
and granddam and has been a wonderful personality, too.
She gave us gorgeous twin does this early summer of 2011 that we have retained.
See Summer Breeze and Painted Lady.
Her first freshening udder is very nice and she is easy to milk. I made the hard
decision to sell her, but her babies are here.
We also kept the beautiful buck that Stellar gave us in 2009; Beauty's full
brother, Thunderbolt. So, Stellar's line is an important part of our
breeding program.
